RULEMAKING PROCESS TO AMEND DESIGNATED BASIN RULES 5.6 & 5.8
With this notice, the Ground Water Commission (Commission) would like to make all interested parties aware that we are initiating the process to amend Rules 5.6 and 5.8 of the Rules and Regulations for the Management and Control of Designated Ground Water (Designated Basin Rules). The current Designated Basin Rules are available to view and download here.
The proposed change to Rules 5.6 and 5.8 moves aquifer storage and recovery plans, which are currently the subject of Rule 5.8, within Rule 5.6, which addresses replacement plans, and revise the standards of replacement plans, including aquifer storage and recovery plans. A current draft of the proposed wording of the rule change is available to view and download in both redlined and clean versions.
In contemplating this rule change the Commission is convening a group of participants with an interest in the subject of the rulemaking for the purpose of submitting views or otherwise participating informally in conferences (meetings) on the proposal under consideration. Interested parties are hereby given the opportunity to participate and present their thoughts, ideas, and reasoned opinions on the proposed change.
Stakeholders may provide input on the proposed change by attending meetings and/or submitting written comments. Staff of the Commission held public meetings to allow for input on January 12, 2017 and February 12, 2017. Written comments that were submitted previously are available to view and download here.
A third public meeting to allow for input will be held on April 26, 2017 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., in Room 814, 1313 Sherman St, Denver, CO, 80203. Interested parties may participate in person or by phone.
